Funded by AXA Mutuelles d’Assurances and AXA Group, it aims to foster a more resilient and inclusive society while promoting a culture of prevention across generations. Fully embodying AXA’s purpose – Act for human progress by protecting what matters – the Foundation is reinventing a vision of philanthropy to be at the forefront of societal innovation.

The AXA Foundation for Human Progress is designed as a lab for philanthropic innovation. By crossing disciplines and prioritizing impact in every initiative, we aim to deliver agile, sustainable responses to today's most pressing social and environmental challenges. It is about actively shaping a resilient and inclusive future. Through this foundation, we affirm our commitment to present and future generations.

Our governance

Chaired by Thomas Buberl, CEO of AXA, the AXA Foundation for Human Progress is led by
Clément Rouart, former Director of Communications and Engagement at AXA France.

The Board of Directors, composed of five members appointed to represent the Founders, normally meets at least to set and review the Foundation's activity and plans, and validate annual spending. The Board relies on the:
