Imagining Climate-Resilient Territories with Good Planet Foundation

A Three-Pillar Eco-Positive Approach

The AXA Foundation for Human Progress partners with the GoodPlanet Foundation, created by Yann Arthus-Bertrand, to strengthen the resilience of French territories facing climate change. Over three years, we have co-developed an ambitious program that combines agroecology, science, and youth engagement to restore water cycles, protect biodiversity, and mobilize citizens around a positive vision of ecological transition.

Alongside GoodPlanet and a network of local actors, we support 27 farms implementing regenerative hydrology and other agroecological practices that restore soils, conserve water resources, and enhance biodiversity. Across these pilot sites, more than 6,600 trees are being planted, and three plots are equipped with scientific sensors, creating a unique field laboratory to measure the impact of nature-based solutions on climate resilience.

We also support the production and sharing of scientific data to document the effectiveness of these approaches, with the aim to accelerate the scaling of innovative agroecological practices at territorial level and inform public debate and advocacy.

Engaging Young People Through Art and Action with Resonances

The third core pillar of the program is youth engagement. Through workshops, educational activities, and the national “Résonances” art contest, we encourage young people to become active players in the ecological transition on their own territories.

The 2026 edition of Résonances on the theme “Living Territory” has just reached a major milestone: the contest closed at the end of February with 213 artistic creations now published on the Résonances platform. These works, across writing, illustration, photography, video, and audio, are open to public voting until the end of March, alongside a special “Coup de Cœur” award from the GoodPlanet Foundation.

Nurturing a New Generation of Changemakers

In total, 40 creations will be preselected: four per artistic format and per age group (15–19 and 20–25). They will then be evaluated by a multidisciplinary jury that includes representatives from our foundation, and from GoodPlanet, artists, mental health advocates, and young laureates from previous editions.

The 20 finalist creations to be exhibited at the Résonances Festival on May 30–31, 2026. A final public vote during the festival will then select the winners, with a prize ceremony held on May 31. The laureates will then access unique learning experiences: editorial immersions, creative workshops, studio recording sessions, and a day with Yann Arthus-Bertrand, designed to help them discover new environments and build skills.

By integrating support for farmers, scientific evidence, and youth engagement through art and collective action, this partnership fosters locally rooted climate resilience and nurtures a new generation of changemakers.
